M’Yad L’Yad Sponsors used to be responsible for paying the shipping charges for assistance packages which they sent to their Recipients. To enable Sponsors to put MORE IN THE BOX for their Recipients, our Board of Directors decided to cover these charges. Our Recipients have greatly benefited as Sponsors are now able to be even more generous when sending packages.Through the M’Yad L’Yad MORE IN THE BOX Campaign, we are reaching out to local merchants, professionals, and small businesses to help defray the cost of mailing packages. By contributing to this campaign, you are helping local families in need, many of whom live in your community.

- What is M’Yad L’Yad - Helping Hands?
M’Yad L’Yad is a non-profit organization that arranges anonymous one-to-one matches of volunteer donors (Sponsors) with individuals and families in need (Recipients) on Long Island.
- How do the Sponsors help their Recipients?
Sponsors send packages to their Recipients four times/year. These packages include items such as clothing, household goods, school supplies, toys and other items to enhance the lives of the Recipients.
- Why is this done anonymously?
To ensure the privacy and dignity of everyone involved, we maintain anonymity between Sponsors and Recipients.
- If this is an anonymous program, how do the Sponsors send their packages?
Sponsors bring their packages to local mailing centers that maintain our Recipient address list. Code numbers are used to ensure anonymity.
- How can our business help?
Sponsors used to be responsible for paying the shipping charges for packages which they sent. To enable Sponsors to put MORE IN THE BOX for their Recipients, M’Yad L’Yad has taken on this cost. We are asking you to contribute to our MORE IN THE BOX Campaign by paying the shipping charges and helping our Sponsors to put MORE IN THE BOX.
- Why should we support the MORE IN THE BOX Campaign?
Most importantly, your support directly benefits local families in need. During these difficult economic times, we all have an obligation to help those less fortunate. We will also publicize your participation in our MORE IN THE BOX Campaign by listing your business’s name in our newsletter and on our website (with a link to your website). All donations to M’Yad L’Yad are tax-deductible.
